Howdy Gang! I’m sorry to say that there is no new episode of the Novus Homo podcast this week—I’m taking a small hiatus from podcast while I explore the South’s famous hospitality—new and regular episodes will resume in June. Instead I would like to draw your attention to this great piece on PrEP and gay sex from Tyler Pratt, which features interviews with PreP Facts founder, Damon Jacobs, and your’s truly.
Early this year Tyler contacted me on the Facebooks. He had read “Look Back In Shame,” my editorial on the influence of the AIDS Healthcare Foundation which had originally appeared in The Fight, and asked if I’d be interested in being interviewed by him for a Serial-esque radio piece/podcast about gay men, PrEP and HIV stigma which would serve as his master’s thesis for the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism.
The piece that he ultimately produced is an insightful look at the state of gay sex in America as it currently stands—Tyler collects and curates a number of voices, examining PrEP from scientific, cultural, and personal points-of-view—and I am beyond proud to have my voice be a part of it.
And for proverbial icing to that particularly awesome cake the episode includes music from the amazing Banjee Report.
