Wednesday is “friends’ day” here at The Novus, as well as in my everyday life. This week I’d like to draw your attention to 100 Boyfriend’s Mixtape, a new film by my very talented friend Brontez Purnell which is premiering this Saturday at Outfest.
This isn’t the first time I’ve mentioned 100 Boyfriends Mixtape here on The Novus, and with good reason. It’s hilariously written, except where it’s kind of gut-punchingly sad. It’s also beautifully shot; Stephen Quinones‘ slightly melancholic eye can be felt in many shots.
The movie takes on the notion (often played out in film and TV) that all gay guy are really just “good boys, looking for love,” and if not for mean ol’ society, we’d settle down and stop being such sluts. You can see Brontez talking a little bit more about the film below (he likes trouble.)
The very talented Brontez Purnell, has been a guest on the podcast, and we spend time talking about our respective dating histories and relationship philosophies. (If you go in for that sort of thing, you can find it HERE.)
And if you are in Los Angeles this weekend, don’t pass up the chance to see the world premier of 100 Boyfriends Mixtape.
